All great. proshop actually let us play some days as 9 hole at 9am, 9 holes at 1pm on different course to accomodate us palying separately from very large regular groups.
Speed of play is impressive as regulars play alot of golf and all seem to have electric golf buggies, carts, etc.
Excellent clubhouse inculuding cooked breakfast options.
Accomodation on site is good in some rooms, basic in others. Choose carefully.
5 day golf/stay/some meals holiday package is reasonable value but take time to select your course/tee times in advance or you may be a bit sidelined by regulars who play competitions most days.
Our pick= Murray Course for its scenery, Executive course for its shorter lengh and tighter layout.

For my Golf Course Review of the Taree RSL and Golf Club it is a relatively challenging course. Even though it is not a long course it is hilly to undulating and the golfer is presented with a predominance of compound slopes, dams, creeks and out of bounds. It requires more of the golfer than just hitting long and straight. The club has spent a lot of effort in recent times in improving the asthetics.

It's easy to be thrown by the dodgy dirt road entrance, but you are gradually reassured as you get closer and grab glimpses of the 1st/2nd/3rd fairways as you near the carpark. The club house is basic at best, but most people go there for the golf, so it's not a massive imposition.

Let's be honest, the course is damn hard and if you play to your handicap, you should be happy. That said, the course also rewards good shot making with plenty of opportunities for birdy (and 1 or 2 eagle chances) if you are aggressive AND accurate. The 3rd, 8th, 10th, 13th 15th, 17th and 18th are all stand-out holes which not only look great but challenge even the best golfers. The course is long with the par 3 9th measuring 218m, par 3 14th measuring 208m and par 4 10th measuring well over 400m.

One of the real stand-out features of the Tuncurry Golf Course is that you can play a full round without seeing any other golfers. The course is secluded and with loads of birds, occasional kangaroos and even the odd snake.

The couch fairways are awesome with no need for preferred lies. The bent greens are quite fast and a real challenge, although they run truely and reward good putting. The rough is challenging and the bush that lines most fairways is punishing. Don't go left, don't go right! Don't expect to spray it and catch the neighbouring fairway as this is rarely an option. You really do need to be straight here.

A challenging golf course with the golfing purist in mind.

The grass on the fairways and around the greens is not kept to proper golf course standards and as a result average players will normally drop a shot a hole on par 4 and 5s.

The tees are also not maintained properly.

If you care about how many strokes you're hitting this will lead to a fair amount of frustration and non-enjoyment of the round.

When it comes to value for money I rated the course 10 out of 10.
