This course has been redesigned to accomodate realestate development. There used to be some great holes that either no longer exist or have been changed. The 9th no longer finishes at the club house so forget dropping in for the toilet facilities or something to eat. Yes there is a drinks cart that comes around, we only saw it twice during the 18 holes we played and one of those times it was empty with no food. The round took 5 and a half hours to complete due to some very poor golfers in front of us, plus two people who decided to walk and would not call us through and then there were the team of four drunks in front of them who left their beer bottles and spirit cans strewn over the tees. There was no course marshall to ensure anyone was kept in line with the basics of fair behaviuor on the course. The bunkers were in poor condition and the greens have weeds and rubbish grass growing out of them.
Overall I was very dissapointed to see that Gainsborough has fallen so far from the standard it used to be.
I probably will not return unless I hear that it improves significantly.
